More than 70 turn out for the 11th annual Golf for a Cause
MAYS LANDING – The weather broke just in time for the 11th annual Golf for a Cause to begin Saturday, April 11. More than 70 golfers were welcomed at the Mays Landing Golf and Country Club for the event – which generated $20,000 for people battling cancer.
“This was a wonderful event for people who aren’t surfers but want to help us raise funds for people battling cancer,” said Immediate Past President and Event Chairman Dan Cellucci of Northfield. “The weather was amazing and the golfers were really impressed with the staff and hospitality of Mays Landing Golf and Country Club. We also had a lot of fun with the putting contest, longest drive and closest to the pin contests.”
The Jeff Quintin team of Steve Howard of Seaville, Ron Ralston of Somers Point, Ryan Owens of Ocean City and Jeff Quintin of Ocean City were the winning foursome.
“The board members are the heart and soul of the foundation. They volunteer so almost 100% of the money we raise and you helped raise today goes to help people with cancer,” said founder Dean Randazzo of Atlantic City. “Thank you for coming together for a good time and a good cause.”
Trustee and former beneficiary Karen Grant of Margate organized a fundraiser through her employer Bozzuto property management, to win a 65-inch curved LED 4k ultra HD TV by Samsung added $5,000 to the foundation’s total for the day.
The foundation is now preparing for its 8th annual Paddle for a Cause is Saturday, June 13, at the Golden Nugget Atlantic City, including not only a 22.5-mile around the island marathon paddle, but also two social paddles of 8 miles and 4 miles to the Wonder Bar. Register here.
